TerraPay Launches Xend – enabling global network interoperability

Leading international money transfer provider TerraPay announced the debut of Xend, a first-of-its-kind Payments Interoperability Network intended to combine the different worlds of cards, banks, and wallets into a single, seamless, international financial ecosystem [November 2025].

By acting as a global infrastructure layer, Xend allows wallet users to access 150 million acceptance sites and conduct transactions with 11,500 banks using the Swift network—all from within their current wallet applications. With the help of inclusion-led partners like Swift, TerraPay enables Xend to enable smooth global interoperability, enabling wallet users to send and receive money from any bank in the globe and make payments across wide-ranging merchant networks.

TerraPay connects partners to 3.7Bn+ mobile wallets, 7.5Bn+ bank accounts, and 150+ countries to build a borderless financial world by making money transfers instant, reliable, transparent, and compliant.

Real time access enables growth

By providing real-time access to international banks, merchants, and other wallets, the Xend network, which is already operational with over 200 million wallet users through top global wallet providers, exhibits its capacity to grow quickly to its current 3.7 billion wallet endpoints.

An important turning point in financial infrastructure was reached at the launch event in Dubai, which brought together global payment giants, mobile money providers, and digital wallet innovators. The first network to offer universal payments interoperability, Xend links wallets to the official financial system at scale as well as to one another.

“In mobile networks, roaming transformed how people connected, it made communication borderless. With Xend, we’re bringing that same freedom to money movement,” said Ambar Sur, Founder & CEO, TerraPay. “We want every wallet to roam globally, just like mobile phones do, to pay, receive, and spend anywhere, without friction or boundaries. By partnering with Swift, we’re building a truly open and interoperable financial fabric that connects the digital economy to the formal financial system – at scale.”

“Swift has long championed interoperability as a cornerstone of global financial connectivity,” said Juan Martinez, Global Head of Payments Services, Swift. “Working with TerraPay aligns with our mission to enable instant, secure, and inclusive cross-border transactions, bringing the power of the Swift network to millions of wallet users worldwide.”

New infrastructure not required

Xend unlocks global utility by allowing wallet users to receive money from any bank in the world, pay at online and retail shops worldwide, and send money to other wallets globally. This transforms domestic wallets and super-apps into internationally connected financial instruments without the need for new infrastructure or bilateral integration.

This partnership enables wallet providers on the Xend network to provide their consumers with rapid, compliant, and interoperable payments across banks, cards, and wallets, bridging the gap between traditional finance and the digital economy.

TerraPay is London based and has operations in Bangalore, Dubai, Bogotá, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and Singapore.
