China’s First 5MW PV Power Plant Gets Shingled-cell Modules

As a world-class solar products manufacturer, Seraphim Solar specializes in research, development, production, and sales of solar PV products. Since its foundation in 2010, Seraphim has accomplished significant achievements in numbers and in innovative depth. Seraphim was listed as Batch I Smart Manufacturing Plant by Jiangsu Government, the Witness Laboratory Accreditation Certificate (WMTC) by CNAS, CSA and TUV SUD, all indicating Seraphim’s endeavor and achievements in innovation.  Seraphim leads the industry in technological stewardship. It now has a global capacity of 3GW, and serves worldwide customers with high-quality products and professional services. So far more than 4GW of it’s products have been widely applied in over 30 countries.

The first ground-mounted solar plant using shingled-cell modules, also known as the Zhaiheyuan Project, was successfully connected to the grid in Jiyuan, Henan Province at the end of January 2018. At 5 MW, the Zhaiheyuan Project is also the biggest solar project using innovative shingled-cell modules, which are all made by Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System Co., Ltd.

Developed by Henan Nuanhuang Photovoltaic, Zhaheyuan Project now generates annual electricity exceeding 7 million kWh, using a total of 16,000 Seraphim 300W Poly Eclipse™ modules. After the project is completed, carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 7781 tons each year.

The Seraphim Eclipse™ high-efficiency module selected for this project is widely recognized in the solar industry for its innovation and value.

Eclipse™’s cumulative installed base at home and abroad now surpasses 120MW. After passing rigorous tests in May 2016, the Eclipse™ series has emerged as the world’s first TUV SUD certificated high-performance module using shingled-cell technology. Compared to standard modules, its power output is at least 15% higher.

Currently, Mono Eclipse™ achieves 325W output power and 19.1% solar energy conversion efficiency, while Poly Eclipse™ achieves 305W and 17.9%. PV plants using Eclipse™ modules will use 8% less land, and proportionally less labor and BOS costs.
