Midea is actively building a technology group that provides digital solutions combining software & hardware for both B-end & C-end users. At a recent conference in Guangzhou, China [June 2024], the group outlined the following goals for its 2025 digital strategy:

- reaching high-tech industry standards,
- maintaining industry leadership by building core technology barriers,
- becoming the first choice in the global smart home market,
- & integrating digital technology into business development in order to innovate.
Over the past few years, Midea has established AI Innovation Centres, Midea Software Engineering Institutes, Midea Cloud Data Centres, & Privacy Computing Joint Laboratories. The group has determined to implement its digital strategy & ambitions in technology transformation through all of this.
Digital Midea 2025 reflects Midea’s gradual approach to users. Midea has a unified digital base for Smart Home, Smart Building, Smart Travel, Smart Energy, Smart Healthcare, Smart Logistics, & Smart Manufacturing, providing all users with exclusive data cockpits & smart decision-making assistants, according to Zhang Xiaoyi, the Group’s CEO.
XIAOWEI, a robot with intelligent technology that functions as a family assistant, AI butler, safety guard, & playmate, was officially unveiled at Midea’s press conference. In terms of industrial digitalisation, Midea expands from smart home to industrial technology, building technology, & into other fields, empowering corporate customers & building a new digital ecosystem.

Midea Industrial Technology is dedicated to promoting industry growth through technological advancements, particularly in intelligent transportation, industrial automation, energy solutions, & consumer appliances. Midea Building Technologies offers a comprehensive range of global air, water, & elevator products. Midea Cloud specializes in intelligent manufacturing & industrial software -it has plans to expand its services to 2,000 top clients by 2025 while collaborating with 1,000 partners.
Midea Healthcare, as one of Midea Group’s primary businesses (000333.SZ), organized new product launches last year [2023], where five medical industry consortias – Wandong (WDM), KUKA, Midea Biomedical, Swisslog Healthcare, & Midea Building Technologies – unveiled innovative solutions for five new Midea Healthcare scenarios: medical technology buildings, operating rooms, inpatient wards, outpatient pharmacies, & logistics command centres.
For Midea, when all hardware is supported by digital technology, there will be an organic open ecosystem, from all metadata to platforms, systems, home hardware, & even buildings and cities, all connected in a smart digital way to provide a better digital world.
