KM Malta Airlines Ltd is the newly launched airline of the Maltese Islands. It launched its first flight on the 31st of March 2024. It was established to protect and enhance the connectivity of the Maltese Islands to Europe & to support the Islands’ continued economic development. It links Malta with the main capital cities in Western Europe, primary European airport hubs, and is connecting with partner airlines.
Its fleet consists at present of eight Airbus 320NEO. These aircraft are equipped with a flexible Business Class cabin with 168 total saleable seats and 36 Business Class seats. With lower CO2 emissions per passenger and lower noise pollution, these modern fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft offer superior operating economics and better environmental performance.
CellPoint Digital has been entrusted with supporting the payment processes of KM Malta Airlines. CellPoint Digital’s Payment Orchestration platform enabled KM Malta Airlines to launch the service with optimized payment processes, a cost-effective payment strategy, and a customer-centric payment model.
The partnership reflects the airline’s commitment to providing seamless, convenient payment experiences to its passengers and the airline’s recognition of CellPoint Digital as an important payment solution provider. CellPoint Digital has enabled the airline to access a network of acquirer connections, including Shift4 (formerly Finaro), a newly introduced partner. As a result, the airline can optimize transaction routing, reduce payment costs, and settle in its preferred currency.
With CellPoint Digital’s Payment Orchestration Platform, KM Malta Airlines will increase acceptance by routing transactions intelligently, simplifying and centralising back-end reconciliation, integrating Apple Pay, and easily accommodating multiple PSPs and acquirers, including Shift4, KM Malta Airline’s preferred acquirer.
